Preparation and Characteristic of Waterborne Acrylate Adhesive

Aqueous emulsion acrylic adhesive was prepared by batch polymerization With 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) and butyl (BA) as soft monomers, methyl methacrylate (MMA) hard monomer, acid (AA), amide (AM) hydroxyethyl (HEA) hydrophilic functional dodecanethiol (NDM) molecular weight regulator, Sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) octyl phenol polyoxyethylene ether (op-10) mixed emulsifiers, ammonium persulfate (APS) initiator, distilled water (H2O) solvent. The effects of emulsifier, reaction temperature time on the properties synthetic were also discussed. emulsifier accounted for 4% initiator 1%. This method greatly reduces preparation time, improves efficiency, facilitates operation production. aqueous white blue light, stable small odor, good resistance, solid content 42.13%, viscosity 857.1 mPa·s, peel strength 2.647 N·(25mm)–1 through calcium stability. waterborne a dispersion medium have advantages high content, safety, non-toxicity low cost, which can meet needs packaging printing fields.
